How to Get to the Big Buddha
There is no public transportation to the Big Buddha statue in Phuket. You can reach it by taxi, rented car or bike, or on foot. There is free parking available near the complex.

You can get to the Big Buddha by taxi or tuk-tuk, as part of a tour, on a rented bike or car. It’s also possible to reach the Big Buddha on foot.
Rental costs range from 250-300 baht per day. The Buddha is located on a hill, and the road follows a serpentine path with sharp turns, but the road surface is good.
A trip from Patong, Kata, or Karon will cost approximately 500-600 baht.
It’s more convenient and cheaper to order a taxi through the Grab app.

Trekking to the Big Buddha
The trekking trail is not too long, approximately 1.7 km from the beginning to the Big Buddha statue. There are several challenging sections with steep ascents, where ropes are provided.
It’s better to go trekking early in the morning or after 4:00 PM when it’s not too hot.
Part of the route goes through the jungle. If you see monkeys, do not approach closely, as their bites and scratches can be dangerous for humans.
Be sure to wear sneakers and bring water. A head covering would also be a good idea.
